Lincoln Park has the zoo, the lakefront, DePaul and some of the city's prettiest blocks. It also has a handful of food spots that people cross town for. Here's the short list.
Pizza, both kinds
- Pequod's Pizza: the pan pizza with the burnt, caramelized cheese crust around the edge. It's a divey bar, not a tourist stop. Get it with sausage.
- Pat's Pizza & Ristorante: thin crust, cut in squares, serving the neighborhood since 1950. It's a good example of tavern-style pizza.

Late night
- The Wiener's Circle: a char dog with everything, cheddar fries, and the famous trash talk between staff and customers. Best after midnight on a weekend. More on the Chicago dog here.
Mornings
- Floriole Cafe & Bakery: a longtime French-style bakery in a sunny old building near DePaul. Get a canelé and a croissant.
- Beacon Doughnuts: all-vegan donuts that nobody can tell are vegan.
- Batter & Berries: a Black-owned brunch spot famous for its French toast flight. Plan on a weekend wait.
Just outside the neighborhood
Lakeview is a short walk north, with Crisp for Korean fried chicken and Scooter's for frozen custard. Head west to Bucktown and you'll reach Margie's Candies, the city's classic hot fudge sundae.
