Frank's Pizzeria
About
A family-run Belmont Avenue pizzeria with a cracker-thin crust and Italian sausage made by hand in-house.
What to order: Thin crust with the house sausage and hot giardiniera
Frank's makes pizza on Belmont Avenue, out in Schorsch Village on the Far Northwest Side, and it still works from its original recipe. The thin crust is the reason to come: cracker-thin and crisp, yet sturdy enough to carry plenty of sauce, cheese and toppings. The Italian sausage is made by hand in-house, and pairing it with giardiniera is the local move. If you like it even thinner, ask for the extra-thin crust. Frank's makes pan and stuffed pies too, but this is a thin-crust place, and it's best eaten hot in the dining room.
